My name is Myra Shannon-Fuller, and I am here to serve you as the Mentality & Resiliency Life Coach with HBA. I am 33 years old, and live in Houston, TX! I am currently employed as a Communications Manager for a multi-national corporation.

While that may be what I do, if you asked me who I am I would tell you, I am a woman reborn. For the better part of my life, I battled anxiety and depression associated with undiagnosed obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD). For those not familiar with OCPD, it is a personality disorder defined by strict adherence to orderliness and control over one's environment at the expense of flexibility and openness to new experiences. I struggled with an excessive need for [unattainable] perfection.

My endless perceived shortcomings distorted my view of myself, resulting in poor self-esteem, self-worth, and an array of poor coping mechanisms, ranging from emotional eating, to poor boundaries and a dependency on external validation. My life was truly exhausting and if not for my resiliency, I would not be here. Through an intense journey of reeducation and cognitive behavioral therapy, I learned there was a better way. I discovered that life can be lived with authenticity, self-validation, mindfulness, and real joy.  We can connect better mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually with ourselves. We can cultivate immense inner strength and harness the power to achieve our dreams, accomplish any goal, and create and live the life that we want.
